As soon as I saw the Carrie Cardigan pattern in this month’s Simply Sewing Magazine I added it straight to my list of things to make in March!

Cuff Dress
I made a cuff top by The Assembly Line last year and it was one of my most loved and reached-for garments during the warmer months. Naturally, as soon as the dress version of the pattern was released I added it to my ‘things to sew’ list.
Pocket Skirt
I’ve been busy making quilt blocks recently, but had a real urge to do some dressmaking last week – I opted for one of my ‘make nine’ projects – the Pocket Skirt by Peppermint Magazine.
Marlo Sweater
As soon as I saw True Bias release the Marlo Sweater in January it jumped straight to the top of my sewing list!
Confident and Joyful Free Motion Quilting
I absolutely love hand-quilting and 39 of the 43 quilts I have made have been lovingly and painstakingly hand-stitched.
Ilford Jacket
This is my Friday Pattern Company Ilford Jacket and I may never take it off! I’ve had my eye on the pattern for a while and I am continually amazed by the fabulous versions I see pop up on Instagram.
Roxy Jumper
I can’t quite believe it took three weeks for me to start my first dressmaking project of 2021! Don’t panic – I haven’t lost my sewjo – I’ve just been very busy making my dream quilt top, testing a pattern, learning to FMQ (free motion quilt) and making a very special birthday present.
Make Nine 2021
It’s no secret that I enjoy planning my sewing projects as much as I like making them. It’s also no secret that I am what I would describe as a ‘completer finisher’ – I struggle to leave anything unfinished, from sewing projects to jigsaws, and nothing fulfills me more than a ticked-off list!
Ash jeans
I really like the first pair of Megan Nielsen Ash jeans I made last year, but recently I have found myself reaching for my ill-fitting ready-to-wear jeans more and more. When I thought about why, it didn’t take me long to realise that it was down to the colour.
Festive Fleetwood
After spending several hours admiring this fabric while making a quilted hot water bottle cover, I became low-key obsessed with it. We still had a few metres in stock in the run-up to Christmas at Hometown and I couldn’t stop thinking about it!
