Festive Fleetwood

After spending several hours admiring this fabric while making a quilted hot water bottle cover, I became low-key obsessed with it. We still had a few metres in stock in the run-up to Christmas at Hometown and I couldn’t stop thinking about it!

Kitty dress

The Maven Patterns Kitty dress has been in my digital stash for quite some time now and I have been meaning to make one for ages. Patsy loved the pattern too and we’d talked about making one together for a while, so we decided it would be the project we worked on together in real life when I visited her in November.

Kalle Shirtdress

Although another Kalle shirtdress wasn’t on my immediate ‘to sew’ list, I had been thinking of making another version for a while and I was keen to try out the sleeve expansion. As soon as Merchant and Mills dropped this beautiful 100% cotton woven in India, I just had to buy some.

Frida Dress

As you can see, I am super happy with my latest make! This is the Frida dress by Emporia Patterns, which was given to me by Clair and Charlotte free of charge in exchange for promotion.

Fleetwood Dress

As soon as I saw the beautiful samples of the new Fleetwood dress by French Navy I added it to my ‘to make’ list immediately. A button up bodice, cuffed sleeves and a gathered skirt are some of my favourite garment details – add in an interesting yoke and an extra ruffle and I’m in heaven!

Wilder Gown

This is my slightly hacked Wilder Gown by Friday Pattern Company and I absolutely freaking LOVE IT!

Cocowawa Plum Dress

I’ve had my eye on the Cocowawa Plum dress for some time. The simple, relaxed shape and versatility really appealed to me and I loved the buttton-up back detail on the bodice.

Ivy Pinafore

I bought this beautiful lightweight wool from Fabworks Mill Shop in Dewsbury when I visited Patsy in February half-term. Originally I had planned to make a Maven Patterns Kitty dress with it, but after pre-washing I realised that it was too scratchy to wear against my skin.

Heyday Dungarees

Without the need for a ‘professional wardrobe’ now I am no longer working as a primary school teacher, I have been turning my attention to more casual makes. My go-to outfit for pottering about at home is without doubt a pair of dungarees and a Breton.

I Am Irma

I was extremely flattered when I Am Patterns approached me and asked if I would like to sew a garment from their new collection ready for the launch, and of course I said yes!
