Happy New Year! If you’ve followed me for a while, you will know that I absolutely love planning my sewing projects – they say that buying fabric and sewing are two separate hobbies, and for me, planning sewing projects is another.

Helene jeans
I have finally finished my #makenine2023! I was very excited to make these jeans, but I absolutely called it when I said ‘don’t be surprised if this is the last of my 9 projects that gets completed!’ Although sewing jeans is just like making anything else but with more steps, there is a lot of preparation involved and this always makes it seem like a big undertaking. It never is though, once you actually get going!
Hazel Blouse
I can’t quite believe that it’s been 3 months since my last post – where did that time go?! Turns out having a sewing studio built in your garden really does fill your days, especially when there are delays, things don’t go quite to plan and your builders don’t have much attention to detail…
Omilie Dress
As soon as I saw the Omilie Dress pattern by Merchant and Mills, I added it to my #MakeNine2023 plans immediately. Square neckline? Asymmetric button placket? Gathering? In-seam AND patch pockets? SIGN ME UP!
French Dart
Well, hello again! It’s been a couple of months since my last blog post as we have been busy moving, but we are now safely installed in the new house and I have managed to squeeze in a bit of sewing – hooray!
Marty shirt
Well, it finally looks like we might be moving house in the next few weeks, which is the reason my blog has been rather neglected of late! My recently finished shirt is too good not to share though, so I have taken a break from all the decluttering and boring moving admin to dust off my camera and laptop and tell you all about it.
Hopethea Dress
This beautiful and unusual fabric has been in my stash since last summer and I have have been uncharacteristically indecisive about what to make with it. It’s a viscose crinkle cloqué that I bought from The New Craft House and as is the nature of deadstock fabric – once it’s gone, it’s gone!
Nepheline Blouse
In preparation for moving house (if that actually happens), I have been trying to work my way through some fabrics in my stash and not add anything new! I’m dithering a bit about a couple of cuts that I haven’t settled on a pattern for, but this fabric was always going to be this blouse, so it was an obvious project to tick off my list and move from my sewing room to my wardrobe.
Orchards Dress #2
I absolutely love my first version of the Vivian Shao Chen Orchards Dress – it’s actually one of my favourite garments I have ever made! I said it would be a pattern I would come back to and I wasn’t wrong.
LB Pullover
Sewing time has continued to be pretty limited this month, but I managed to fit in a couple of hours to whip up one of my #makenine2023 projects – the Paper Theory LB Pullover!
